Spring averages 10–15°C, summer 15–20°C, autumn 10–14°C, and winter 6–10°C on the Kerry coast. Summer paddling brings a mix of Atlantic sunshine and sudden showers. Sea breezes strengthen in the afternoon on exposed crossings. Water hovers around 14–16°C — a wetsuit is essential.

Sea kayaking covers Dingle Bay, the Blasket Islands approach, and Valentia Island with views of the Skelligs offshore. Explore sea caves and hidden coves on half-day and full-day paddles from Dingle and Portmagee. Calm mornings suit open-water crossings; afternoon sessions often stick to sheltered inlets.
Culture
Dingle Peninsula life revolves around the harbour, music sessions, and Gaelic football — Irish is still spoken in Gaeltacht villages along the coast. Natural history
The Skellig Islands rise 218 metres from the Atlantic, hosting one of Europe’s largest gannet colonies and a 6th-century monastic settlement. Fungie the dolphin greeted boats in Dingle Bay for decades. The coast is part of the Wild Atlantic Way, where steep cliffs meet deep ocean trenches.
